Quite simply we are a couple of Rugby mad dads!
With seven young children between the two of our families, we understand the importance of engaging children in sports, for the health-related benefits, for them to learn life skills but ultimately to get them out the house!
Having looked at sports clubs in the surrounding areas, we found that there were few Rugby clubs for children aged 2-6 and came up with the idea of Rugby Stars.
We both immediately agreed that the main philosophy behind Rugby Stars is for children to be active and have FUN whilst learning some rugby skills and bringing together the ethos, principles and values of the game we love the most!
Who Are We?
As Dads, believe it or not we are also qualified!
Gregg has been working with children from a young age having worked as a childcare leader at Camp America and as an activity leader at Mark Warner Activity and Adventure holidays as well as many other experiences. He went on to gain a qualification within teaching PE and has now been working as a primary school teacher in year 6 teacher for the past 4 years. With Rugby qualifications and a passion for teaching, he is more than qualified to be a reputable coach for Rugby Stars.
James is a lifelong Rugby enthusiast who lives and breathes Rugby. He has actively encouraged his children to get involved within the sport, this led him to a number of different England Rugby Coaching classes. With Rugby coaching under his belt, adding his passion and knowledge of the game, he is well equipped for what it takes to be a Rugby Stars coach.
We aim to introduce your child to the greatest game on earth whilst having fun and learning a lot along the way. Each week, children will learn a variety of learning strategies through activities and game play as well as developing Rugby skills.
We will strive to make sure every child leaves the classes looking forward to the next one!
Your child (and you!) are in good hands.
With a pedigree in primary school teaching and England Rugby coaching, we promise to bring you enthusiasm (bags of it!), understanding (we are learning too!) and a fun Sunday morning with your own little Rugby Star!
